First and foremost, we wish to share our sincere thanks and relief that we've been able to find loving homes for two of our cherished horses, Chowmein and Eddie. The transition from racing to retirement is a critical phase in any racehorse's life, and ensuring they are well-cared for is a responsibility we take seriously. It’s heartwarming to know that Chowmein and Eddie will enjoy their retirement in environments filled with love and care.
Our hearts are especially full as we celebrate the new chapter for Kidyounot, our big bay who has found an incredible home. Kid is now thriving under the affection and guidance of a talented young equestrian, forming a bond that exemplifies the beauty of the horse-human connection. This skilled young rider has given Kidyounot a purpose beyond racing, teaching him the love and discipline of equestrian sports. Watching their partnership grow is a testament to the meaningful lives racehorses can lead after their time on the track and we look forward to watching their growth together.
However, our journey in racing has not been without a major heartache. The story of Bulla Nova weighs heavily on us. After years of patience and careful preparation, it became clear that Bulla Nova’s injury would prevent him from meeting the physical demands of racing. This realization has been a difficult pill to swallow, highlighting the unpredictable nature of horse racing and the paramount importance of equine welfare. We are now committed to finding Bulla Nova a home as loving and suitable as the one Kidyounot has found, where he can enjoy a peaceful and fulfilling life.
Reflecting on these experiences, we are reminded of the steep learning curve facing new owners in the racing industry. The importance of making informed decisions at the sales, guided by knowledgeable and ethical trainers and consigners, cannot be overstated. Our experiences underscore the potential pitfalls of inadequate education and the critical need for transparency and guidance in these early stages.
We are deeply thankful that, despite the obstacles we've faced, none of our athletes have suffered severe or fatal injuries that would prevent them from finding new careers beyond racing. This gratitude fuels our commitment to responsible ownership, the welfare of our horses, and the pursuit of a sport that honors their dignity and potential at every turn.
To our fans, supporters, and the broader horse racing community, we express our heartfelt thanks for your continued support and understanding. The path of horse racing is fraught with highs and lows, but it is the love for our horses and the community around us that sustains our spirits and drives us forward. Here’s to a year of learning, growth, and, most importantly, the well-being of our beloved equine athletes.
